The name’s Daniel G. and I’m a small town boy living in a big city. I hail from Sand Creek, a town just 5 or 6 miles north of the Ohio border, born and raised there for 26 years. I’ve since moved to Livonia because of a financial and personal change as the economic outlook of my current town is much better than my previous one. I’m still adapting to life in a larger urban area, but I find that cycling here is just as good as in a rural area, you just have to look for it. I grew up riding Schwinn bikes and that’s my passion. Schwinn bicycles made when they were decent- Chicago made cycles until the 80s, although the majority of the bikes I ride are from the 60s and 70s. I can appreciate all types of bicycles and cycling, but you won’t see any spandex on this guy; I wouldn’t want to see myself in it.
I welcome any comments you may want to give and will respect your opinions as I would expect you respect mine. I hope you enjoy yourself and you might even learn something.
Daniel,
I hope you are more diligent that I am at writing in your blog. Looks like good stuff. I found it from your post on SBF. Keep it up. I enjoy reading about folks who ride all those miles. So far my longest one has been 7.3 miles and that was this week. Riding and restoring old Schwinn bikes is a new found interest for me. I cheat though…I bought a new Cannondale comfort mountain bike for riding daily. I live in a hilly area in middle TN and need the 24 gears…everyone of them!
